PHY 101 4th Assignment idea solution..
For question no 1 :- Find Angle Refraction ???
look at this formula
Refraction is described by Snell's law, which states that for a given pair of media and a wave with a single frequency, the ratio of the sines of the angle of incidence θ1 and angle of refraction θ2 is equivalent to the ratio of phase velocities (v1 / v2) in the two media, or equivalently, to the opposite ratio of the indices of refraction (n2 / n1):

so from there
sinθ2=n2 (sinθ1/n1)
n1=1.00
there n2=1.52
θ1=30degree

For question no 2 :-
A radio transmitting station operating at a frequency of 120MHz has two identical
antennas that radiate in phase. Antenna B is 9.00m to the right of A. Consider point P
between the antennas and along the line connecting them, a horizontal distance x to the
right of antenna A. For what values of x will constructive interference occur at point P?
---------

Solution:-

As far i think .... look at this example please.... where the same condition is given.
Two loudspeakers, A and B are driven by the same amplifier and
emit sinusoidal waves in phase. Speaker B is 2.00 m to the right of speaker A.
The frequency of the sound waves produced by the loudspeakers is 206 Hz.
Consider point P between the speakers and along the line connecting them,
a distance x to the right of speaker A. Both speakers emit sound waves
that travel directly from the speaker to point P.
b) For what values of x will constructive interference occur at point P?
----
Solution of example:-
Assume speed of sound c = 343 m/s, then wavelength lambda = c/f = 1.665 m and lambda/4 = 0.41626 m. There are two locations between the speakers where there is interference. At the center the path lengths are equal.

For constructive interference you want a pathlength difference equal to lambda multiplied by an integer>=0. Then you have one constructive point at the center and, using similar logic as in A, two more at lambda/2 = 0.83252 m to either side. No more points can fit in that space. The locations are at 1.03 - 0.83252 and 1.03 + 0.83252 m.
----
f (frequency) = v (velocity)/ L
v=f*L
L=9.00m
f=120
v=120*(9)=1080

IT430 GDB solution 29 June 2012

Solution 1
In Pakistan business owners do not find e-commerce feature as tool to reach over the
world in just one click. They ignore the importance of e-commerce as they think that it is
waste of time and money. During my research I found that business owners of Pakistan
do not understand the term “e-commerce”. They do not realize how much benefit they
can avail from e-commerce.
E-commerce can help our business owners  to create a new relationship opportunities
where he can find potential customers, business associates and new product
manufacturers. Customers who don’t know you exist will know about you, product
suppliers will request you add their items and other businesses will approach you about
partnership opportunities. Many of these opportunities would not present themselves
without an Online presence or site for them to discover you on their own. His business
will be accessible to users all over the world.
Business will be opened for all over the world for 24 hours. Vacations, holidays, & office
timing will not be disturbing the supply chain process.  Customer loyalty can be
improved by presenting products and improving customer satisfaction through e-commerce. You can literally take orders and let customers shop while you sleep, take
vacations or from remote locations.
Sales will also be increased. In addition to potentially increasing sales and profits, e-Business owners can also typically reduce the costs of running their business by moving
it or expanding it into the Online world. e-commerce stores can run with less employees
including sales staff, customer service reps, order fulfillment staff and others. e-Businesses also do not need a physical location in order to stay operational, which can
reduce costs related to building leases, phone bills, utility costs and other costs associated
with running a brick-and-mortar storefront.
In the end, let make it clear that right technology enhancement at right time in business
always provide benefits to the organization. Its up to you to get it or waste it by making
lame excuses or ignoring. You are welcome to share your opinions and feedback in
comment section.
Solution 2
E-business is an emerging trend which is rapidly growing all over the world and only
those can survive in future who automate themselves and present them on internet to
connect with all over the world and to present in business anywhere anytime. E-business
is feasible in Pakistan but there is a need to convince and influence the people to be
involved in this technique and system because with the help of e-business they can
automate their business and they can effectively run their business with less hurdles and
problems. Pakistan has talent in every field as well as in IT field. The need is to use this
intellectual property and build infrastructure which will help to promote the internet and
e-business in our country and people can be prosperous by applying it because it is a need
of time and it is a great opportunity for them to be a part of this digital age.
Solution 3
In Pakistan the owner of the business not get benefits from e-commerce tool or features.

can literally take orders and let customers shop while you sleep, take vacations or from
remote locations.e commerce business does not need physical location.the customer can
get benefits from this features at any time when he want.the owner must launch there
business website in which all the benefits of there product must be includes.
E-commerce is now a days are very essential for business expansion.problem of
electricity is minimized with the help of generators and the cost of generator is much
lesser than its benefits.low litracy rate can effect us in premises of pakistan, but with the
help of ecommerce, we can capture the international market. so it is beneficial to chose e-commerce Govt. fails to implement the e commerce initiatives and regulations but inspite
of this we must go for E-commerce because sooner or later govt will have to develop and
impliment strong E-commerce Regulations .E-commerce is now a days are very essential

MGMT628 GDB No. 2 Spring 2012 Solution

MGMT628 GDB No. 2 Spring June 2012 Solution

Discussion Question:
There has been a serious critique on codes of ethics that they are only used for employees not for organizations. It is said that a code of ethics only transfers responsibility and accountability of ethical behavior from organization to individual employees. For instance, it is expected by an employee to perform efficiently and effectively along with loyalty and dedication. He is also ethically bound to disclose his all other activities, assets and sources of income to the organization. But at the same moment, if government announces some benefits for employees, e.g. to increase the pay of all government employees, the private organizations do not comply.

Question:
Do you think a code of ethics is also valuable for an organization; and if organization does not follow it, what are the repercussions for the employees to follow the code of ethics?

Solution:
A code of conduct is intended to be a central guide and reference for users in support of day-to-day decision making. It is meant to clarify an organization’s mission, values and principles, linking them with standards of professional conduct. As a reference, it can be used to locate relevant documents, services and other resources related to ethics within the organization.
A code is an open disclosure of the way an organization operates. It provides visible guidelines for behavior. A well-written and thoughtful code also serves as an important communication vehicle that “reflects the covenant that an organization has made to uphold its most important values, dealing with such matters as its commitment to employees, its standards for doing business and its relationship with the community.
A code is also a tool to encourage discussions of ethics and to improve how employees/members deal with the ethical dilemmas, prejudices and gray areas that are encountered in everyday work. (Snowz) A code is meant to complement relevant standards, policies and rules, not to substitute for them.
Codes of conduct offer an invaluable opportunity for responsible organizations to create a positive public identity for themselves which can lead to a more supportive political and regulatory environment and an increased level of public confidence and trust among important constituencies and stakeholders

CS201 GDB Idea Solution Spring June 2012
For developing software for embedded systems, C/C++ is an optimal choice. Yes or NO? Support your answer with solid reasons:

Solution::

C++ is still useful in embedded systems. As everyone else has said, that it still depends on the system itself, like 8-bit uC would probably be a no-no in my book even though there is a compiler out there and some people do it(shudder). [ There's still an advantage to using C++ even when you scale it down to something like "C+" even in a 8-bit micro world. What I mean by "C+", I mean don't use new/delete, avoid exceptions, avoid virtual classes with inheritance, possibly avoid inheritance all together, be very careful with templates, use inline functions instead of macros, and use const variables instead of #defines. I've been working both in C and C++ in embedded systems for well over a decade now, and some of my youthful enthusiasm for C++ has definitely worn off due to some real world problems that shake one's naivete. I have seen the worst of C++ in an embedded systems which I would like to refer to as "CS programmers gone wild in an EE world." In fact, that is something I'm working on with my client to improve this one codebase they have among others. The danger of C++ is because it's a very very powerful tool much like a two-edged sword that can cut both your arm and leg off if not educated and disciplined properly in it's language and general programming itself. C is more like a single-edged sword, but still just as sharp. With C++ it's too easy to get very high-levels of abstraction and create obfuscated interfaces that become meaningless in the long-term, and that's partly due to C++ flexibility in solving the same problem with many different language features(templates, OOP, procedural, RTTI, OOP+templates, overloading, inlining). I finished a two 4-hour seminars on Embedded Software in C++ by the C++ guru, Scott Meyers. He pointed out some things about templates that I never considered before and how much more they can help creating safety-critical code. The jist of it is, you can't have dead code in software that has to meet stringent safety-critical code requirements. Templates can help you accomplish this, since the compiler only creates the code it needs when instantiating templates.
